{"id":4918,"date":"2023-03-23T09:20:57","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T09:20:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ineditinnova.com\/?p=4918"},"modified":"2023-10-22T22:59:48","modified_gmt":"2023-10-22T22:59:48","slug":"__trashed-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ineditinnova.com\/en\/__trashed-3\/","title":{"rendered":"The recycled and recyclable cardboard box facilitates the transport of products at -21\u00b0C"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 112px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 41px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"font-size: 25px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saica.com\/es\/saica-pack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Saica Pack Amposta<\/a>, a leading company in the manufacture of recycled corrugated cardboard, has developed a sustainable solution for <a href=\"https:\/\/grupbalfego.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Balfeg\u00f3 Grup<\/a>, a leading company in the fishing and marketing of Mediterranean bluefin tuna, with the creative advice and sustainable management of our eco-design and circular metrics team and the coordination of the project by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.packagingcluster.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Packaging Cluster<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 41px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"font-size: 25px;\">The project arises from the detection of the need by Balfeg\u00f3 Grup to <strong>develop an innovative eco-designed box<\/strong> based on recycled and recyclable cardboard in the Saica Pack operational plant in Amposta (Tarragona) <strong>that is suitable for high-end frozen fish and that can replace the current boxes made of expanded polystyrene plastic<\/strong> (EPS).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 41px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"font-size: 25px;\">This new eco-designed box will have to have high performance to meet the strict requirements of high-end fish logistics, such as <strong>maintaining temperatures below -21\u00baC during the entire transport and logistics<\/strong> phase of the frozen products.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 41px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"font-size: 25px;\">Ecothermbox aims to replace fossil-based materials with renewable and recycled materials and to optimise the transport system through its foldable design. <strong>The environmental benefits of each of the life cycle phases have been validated by our metrics team through a CO2 quantification<\/strong> tool developed during the project.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 41px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"font-size: 25px;\">In total 5 initial prototypes were created and tested in several pilot tests. The objective was to validate user experience, logistics, and environmental impact.
