Client
Montibello is a leading Spanish company in the professional cosmetics sector dedicated to the manufacture and distribution of high quality cosmetic products and treatments for hair, face and body care.
Challenge
Diagnose the current state of your processes, products and sustainability strategies within your business model, in order to draw up an action plan and define your business sustainability strategy.
What was done?
The project has been developed in three main phases:
- • In the first phase, a diagnosis was carried out through a field visit and an analysis of Montibello’s trajectory with the aim of detecting the company’s strategic lines in terms of life cycle vision and circular value chain.
- • In a second phase, a mapping of opportunities grouped by strategic lines and their interaction in the value chain has been designed.
- • And, in a third phase, actions have been specified and priority projects have been defined to result in a document that includes Montibello’s sustainability strategy through a 2023-2030 action plan, which aims to focus efforts on being a company that uses eco-design as a lever for change to promote a more sustainable cosmetics industry.

Conclusions
The key to this project with Montibello has been the process of co-designing its sustainability strategy, how to identify through workshops a vision that is clearly linked to eco-design and propose specific actions from all departments of the company that are directed towards this purpose. A project where our two areas (Business and circular value chain and Ecodesign of products and services) come together and show that having a sustainability strategy in the cosmetics sector is closely linked to ecodesign strategies.
