Client
Bobo Choses is a children’s and adult’s clothing brand with a distribution network in 35 countries around the world. Its collections are characterised for their style, bright colours and vintage look.
The objective of the company was to plan and execute the Re-Textil project, which sought to create a new collection that incorporated a certain percentage of recycled fabric.
Challenge
Identifying the opportunities and internal capabilities of Bobo Choses to implement a system to reuse textile waste.
What was done?
An environmental analysis of Bobo Choses’ reverse logistics system was carried out to reintroduce customers’ garments that had reached their end of their life cycle into the value chain.
Results
12.469
New garments made of recycled fabric from the Bobo Choses’ stock recovery.
500
Kg of reused cotton fabric in stock.
-10%
Reduction in Bobo Choses’ carbon footprint.
Conclusions
The project enabled horizons to be opened with regards the current state of servitisation in the textile sector and to find out all the initiatives currently being implemented in small and large shops. In addition, the ability to extend the supply to new segments was identified and to introduce an added value. At the same time costs are reduced and a new source of resources is developed, which improves the company’s position against risks such as resource shortages and new environmental regulations.
