Client
LedsC4 is a company from Torà (Lleida, Spain) with over fifty years of history that designs and develops both indoor and outdoor lighting products, following eco-design criteria to ensure that the company’s products are efficient, reusable, and recyclable.
The challenge
To obtain the Product Environmental Declaration (PED) (ISO 14025:2006) for the Infinite Pro On/Off luminaire family, and successfully register it in the PEP Ecopassport Program, an international program specific to PEDs for electrical, electronic, and HVAC products. To achieve this, LedsC4 was seeking a tool that would provide them with autonomy in carrying out their PEDs.
What was done?
inèdit’s èdit environmental quantification tool was customized, allowing for the calculation of carbon footprint and water footprint of products or services, conducting life cycle analyses and environmental product declarations. èdit enables companies to input key data for each product or service autonomously, and present the results from different perspectives to identify which products/services and stages have the greatest contribution to impact, and to define solid, effective environmental improvement strategies based on objective and reliable data.
In addition to customizing the tool for LedsC4, training and support were provided to the company to use it and input the data.
Results
LedsC4 not only achieved the PED for the Infinite Pro On/Off luminaire family through the PEP Ecopassport Program, but thanks to this project, they now have a customized tool that allows them to carry out PEDs for any of their products autonomously, with minimal time investment and with objective and reliable data.
Conclusions
The project is a good example of èdit being an optimal tool for conducting a PED and a valuable ally for companies looking to carry it out autonomously, efficiently, and economically.
