Chilean academics will acquire knowledge in circular economy and ecodesign thanks to a training course delivered by inèdit

A training course delivered by inèdit will develop competencies and skills in circular economy, ecodesign, and eco-innovation within the academic community of Chilean universities. The course, titled “Circular Economy and Ecodesign,” is the first initiative of the new Ecodesign and Eco-innovation Lab at CircularTec, a technology center in northern Chile focused on driving the country’s transition towards a circular economy, and with which inèdit has been collaborating since 2023. The goal of the training program is to create a critical mass of professionals in these fields who can transfer their knowledge to students and projects, thereby contributing to Chile’s circular and sustainable transformation. “Working with Chile’s higher education institutions is crucial to promoting the circular economy in the country, as they play a key role in education, research, and innovation,” says Jordi Oliver, CEO of inèdit.

The “Circular Economy and Ecodesign” course will take place from October 17 to November 29, with 25 available spots, and is aimed at Chilean academics from various disciplines. The course includes, on one hand, an online phase consisting of six 1.5-hour webinars, where theory and methodology will be combined with real-life case studies from different sectors and company sizes. The webinars will cover topics such as circular business models, circularity metrics like Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and ecodesign of products and services, among others. On the other hand, there will be a hands-on, intensive 16-hour bootcamp over two consecutive days, where participants will work in teams on five real challenges in circular economy and ecodesign, proposed by five local companies.

Members of the inèdit team will lead the webinars and the bootcamp, where participants will also be supported by a tutor from each company to ensure the feasibility of the work.
