In order to decide which packaging solution to use for its products, the company needed objective and quantitative environmental information.
Challenge
Carrying out a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) (ISO 14040) comparative of two packaging solutions to support the decision-making process.
What was done?
A comparative evaluation of the carbon footprint and other indicators was performed with a life-cycle vision of a cardboard tray (87% recycled) with plastic coating and another recycled PET tray with a plastic retractable lid.
Results
4
Geographic scenarios analysed.
5
Environmental indicators taken into account.
1
