Client
Desigual is a company of the fashion industry, well-known for its distinctive style based on ethnic fabrics and a patchwork composition.
With a presence in 107 countries around the world, Desigual was interested in finding out which of its organisations activities and processes had a greater environmental impact.
Challenge
Quantifying the carbon footprint (ISO 14064) for the entire organisation and its direct and indirect activities.
What was done?
In addition to calculating the carbon footprint, the interpretation of the results was also made easier. The stages or elements representing a greater emission focus were identified and a roadmap was drawn up to apply the footprint reduction measures.
On the other hand, the carbon footprint was reduced and the company committed itself to a reduction aligned with a 1.5ºC increase of the planet, according to the Science Based Targets.
Results
9
Departments involved.
> 20
Identified actions to reduce the carbon footprint related to the increase in energy from renewable sources and the incorporation of circularity strategies.
3
Plans to reduce the use of plastics.
Conclusions
Apart from technical results, the project also served to improve Desigual’s team participation and their motivation toward sustainability policies, given that the involvement of several departments allowed the co-design of reduction actions with a holistic and cross-cutting view within the company.
