Promoting circularity in food packaging

The “Circular Pack” guide presents a number of key points to understand the need to make changes to current food packaging. The aim is to facilitate tools and knowledge that promote changes in all the steps along the value chain, and thus achieve cross-cutting improvements. It is a document that we have prepared jointly with the Foodservice Cluster and the Packaging Cluster, with the support of the Waste Agency of Catalonia, and which has enjoyed the collaboration of more than 30 agents in the value chain.

Within the framework of a new edition of the Fira Alimentaria, the document was presented on 5 April at the Circular Food & Pack Industrial Forum, conferences organised by the Packaging Cluster, Foodservice Cluster and Food+i Cluster. The purpose of these conferences was to give value to the strategic nature of packaging within a dynamic sector and one undergoing constant transformation such as the food industry.
