Campofrío is a multinational food company, a subsidiary of the Mexican company of Sigma foods, with its headquarters in Madrid. It is the leading processed meats company in Europe and one of the five largest companies in the world in the sector.
The premise of the project was to develop a sustainability roadmap in order to reduce risks and find communication opportunities in the areas of sustainability and transparency.
Challenge
To establish Campofrío’s sustainability and transparency strategy in the supply chain for pork, turkey and chicken products.
What was done?
Under this premise a vision, mission, and objectives were defined in relation to the sustainability of Campofrío’s chain of suppliers and an action plan was developed to meet the objectives set, as a way of leading the changes towards a more sustainable meat production sector.

Conclusions
In the current context of finite resources and growing demand, integrating sustainability into the company’s strategy has enabled Campofrío to understand the starting point in sustainability, determine the risks, and identify opportunities. This has enabled them to be competitive and provide adaptive benefits to become a benchmark in the sector.
