Since the beginning, it was clear to us that we wanted to work with and for the territory, because this would mean acting in a network with the aim of achieving a systemic transformation. To achieve an effective transition of territories towards circularity, it is essential that all stakeholders – citizens, institutions, and the business community – are aligned and feel involved and committed to developing and implementing circular economy strategies and models.
What is Circle Economy?
Circle Economy is the global benchmark organisation for the circular transformation of cities. Since its founding in 2011 in the Netherlands, it has worked with more than 80 companies, more than 31 cities and more than 20 countries around the world.
Circle Economy, with the aim of making projects a reality, has experts of different nationalities who work together with companies and local administrations. These experts, also called sister organisations, are the ones who live together and know in depth the reality of each region.
In Spain they count on us, on inèdit. Since 2016, through our Circular Territory area, we have been channelling their knowledge and experience to add value to local projects. Àmbit B30 and Mataró Circular are two examples where we have accelerated this transition towards the circular economy through the involvement and empowerment of agents. We have identified opportunities, generated practical and scalable solutions, and turned them into reality.
